$222,500 For an Owner of a Rental Property Destroyed by Fire

Updated: May 26, 2023

Our client owned a rental home that was severely destroyed in an accidental fire on Christmas Eve when the tenants were wrapping Christmas gifts for their children.

Although the insurance policy didn’t require our client to reside at the rental home, the insurance company denied her claim for lack of residency. We filed a lawsuit in federal court, and within four months, the insurance company agreed to change its position and fully paid our client’s claim.
